چکیده

Street trees are integral components of urban green infrastructure. The importance benefits provided by street has motivated the development various tools to quantify value ecosystem services. i-Tree Eco is a widely applied method for quantifying forest structure, services, and values. Since its first release in 2006, been successfully utilized over 100 countries around world. This study described one applications international project Kyoto, Japan, customizing models parameters enhance accuracy analysis results. Kyoto’s prominently dominated Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba L.), Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum Miq.), Japanese Zelkova (Zelkova serrata (Thunb.) Makino.), Tuliptree (Liriodendron tulipifera Flowering dogwood (Cornus florida London Planetree (Platanus × acerifolia), Plum/cherry (Prunus spp.), Weeping willow (Salix babylonica), which account 92% 1230 sample deliver service at US$71,434.21 annually or US$58.07/tree/year. annual each function was estimated US$41.34/tree carbon storage sequestration, US$3.26/tree stormwater runoff reduction, US$11.80/tree adverse health mitigation effects, US$1.67/tree energy savings. tree species Kyoto city that produce highest average among largest currently population, including P. yedoensis (US$225.32/tree), Z. (US$123.21/tree), S. babylonica (US$80.10/tree), acerifolia (US$65.88/tree). Our results demonstrated comprehensive understanding city, providing baseline information decision-makers managers make effective management decisions, developing policy, setting priorities.

Health and climate related ecosystem services provided by street trees in the urban environment

Urban tree planting initiatives are being actively promoted as a planning tool to enable urban areas to adapt to and mitigate against climate change, enhance urban sustainability and improve human health and well-being. However, opportunities for creating new areas of green space within cities are often limited and tree planting initiatives may be constrained to kerbside locations. At this scal...

Ecosystem services provided by waterbirds.

Ecosystem services are ecosystem processes that directly or indirectly benefit human well-being. There has been much recent literature identifying different services and the communities and species that provide them. This is a vital first step towards management and maintenance of these services. In this review, we specifically address the waterbirds, which play key functional roles in many aqu...

Ecosystem services provided by bats.

Ecosystem services are the benefits obtained from the environment that increase human well-being. Economic valuation is conducted by measuring the human welfare gains or losses that result from changes in the provision of ecosystem services. Bats have long been postulated to play important roles in arthropod suppression, seed dispersal, and pollination; however, only recently have these ecosyst...
